ROBERT SARUNI TAGA
My dear People of Olorropil Ward and residents of Narok County I greet you all.
I’m today leaving the Jubilee Party and joining Orange Democratic Movement.
Today, I address you out of the fullness of my heart. You all recall that a few weeks ago, out of your extreme loyalty, you turned up in large numbers and voted for me in the Jubilee nominations.
Before the nomination, some self-seeking persons, conspired to twist the will of the people, going to the extent of trying to remove my name from the list of the then to be aspirants. I must point out that this tendency at democratic governance is just one of the reasons that makes Jubilee unattractive.
We had struggled to belong to a party founded on deception, thriving on unholy propaganda and falsehood. A party which is not accommodative of the interest of the people it purport to serve.
Today, on behalf of my teaming supporters, and my humble self, we denounce Jubilee and join ODM. We believe things can be better than this.
In taking this political step, it is pertinent to stress that this is not equal to political opportunism or irascible carpet-crossing. A situation where a political party cannot make up its mind about its leadership at both county and national levels, leaves a lot to be desired. While the people’s will to widen the space democracy is noticeable, the reverse seems to be the case in the Jubilee party.
Today we wash our hands off this treachery and lead my supporters in joining ODM, a party accommodative of our interests, one that accepts the will of the people.
In the light of the above, I wish to urge all my supporters, the good people of Olorropil Ward and residents of Narok County to join hands with other well-meaning Narokians to massively vote for Matiya Ole Murguiya, Hon. Moitalel Kenta, Joseph Musuni and Raila Odinga for a transformation agenda for this ward, county and nation – these are leaders with boundless capabilities that will deliver good governance.
Thank You and God Bless You All Abundantly.
